About Alaina Petracca:

Alaina Petracca is a Physician Assistant to Dr. Kimmel, Orthopedic Surgeon and Co-Director of the Connecticut Sports Medicine Institute, as well as Dr. Ruark, Orthopedic Surgeon, Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute at St. Francis Hospital.

Alaina attended University of Connecticut for a Bachelor of Science degree, and further attended the University of Bridgeport, and has a Master of Science in Physician Studies 2015, Magna Cum Laude. She is certified by The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the state of Connecticut.

Alaina works together with Dr. Kimmel as the team provider for the Enfield High Schools and Suffield Academy. She also works alongside Dr. Kimmel as the team orthopedic surgeon for the American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Alaina assists Dr. Kimmel in the operating room and in the office. Dr. Kimmel and Alaina see patients in our Enfield and Rocky Hill offices as well as the urgent care in Bloomfield. In her spare time, she enjoys family time and working out or going for a nice run.

I did not feel rushed. The examination was thorough and the staff listened to my concerns, complaints and also answered any questions. My condition and my options were explained to me. The next steps were also explained to me.

Always feel rushed during the appointment, and they always look at their watches. I know everything is different due to Covid, but she didn't even check my 4 incisions. Staff is nice though.
