The time the doctor spent with me was too short. I had problems and she walked into the room and said you have problems but you are here for wellness so we can either address the problems or do your annual. I felt like just a number not a patient.

Dr. Westerband was in the room with me for maybe a total of 4 minutes. She very quickly examined me and told me she did not see anything wrong, which I know I have had a problem for 2 weeks now, I was trying to get a confirmed answer and options as to how to move forward. It was not until she said there was nothing wrong that I showed her a picture of what had been going on. At that she gave me a name and number of a Doctor that could help me with what was happening.

As a first time mom, this being my first pregnancy, it was hard not to have my husband as part of the appointment. Understandable with the current situation of COVID. I asked if I could phone call or video call my husband in as he waited in the car, but was told by the doctor that she felt uncomfortable with that. Going through this process for the first time, not having any previous experience with pregnancy, or knowing what to expect especially without my support system was very uncomfortable for me. However, the office staff and nurses were very kind and considerate.

Went in for an annual, but didn't even get my breasts examined. Still don't have my results on my pap. When I asked her about a concern I had, she sat what looked like very purposefully. Once, I asked my first question, she was quick to push medicine just like another doctor in this practice. Then left so fast, I didn't even get to ask my second question. Didn't even know why she walked out. I got dressed because I was so confused to what was going on. I could have literally walked past and out the door and she would not have noticed. I figured no, stay and see what she says. I heard her say where did she go?! Did she leave? I said, I am right here. Doctor signed me up for an ultrasound and said schedule an IUD after the ultrasound. I had this office calling saying the IUD was already approved by my insurance after 1 week. I really felt like I had no say in MY treatment.

I had expectations for at least some introduction and/or welcome since I was a new patient to her. I found her abrupt and rushed. I think her medical opinion was accurate but the experience, all of 5 minutes was lacking.

Felt like doctor was in a rush and besides my annual, i was there for issues I've been having and waited 2 months to be seen. Those issues i didnt get to discuss and i had asked to be tested for everything there was no blood work done when the MA said it needed to be done for HIV and HepC testing.

I experienced post menopausal bleeding. No one offered any information on what causes might be, what to look out for in the future, no reassurances at all. The nurse assistant said that Dr. W. "usually" would do a biopsy and got the tools out. Dr. W. rushed in and asked me to lay back, put the speculum in and took the sample. There was no talking about my symptoms, anxieties, or other concerns. She left as soon as she put the speculum in the bin under the sink without even closing the cabinet. I asked if she was going to feel for a tumor or cyst, and she said no, the test was all she needed. She said she would call with results, but didn't even tell me when I could expect them. I asked if I needed to make a follow up appointment and she said no. I felt like I was a bother to them.

Dr. Westerband wrote in her evaluation: NO NEED FOR PAP OR COLPO EXPLAINED TO PT / NEVER AGAIN A PAP This was not explained to PT during the visit. After written inquiries only an incomplete explanation was given. If NEVER AGAIN A PAP because of the age (85), why does Medicare pay for PAP every 2 years irrespective of age. This was never explained.

IUD Insertion / Removal

Dr. Westerband was able to get me in (as a new patient & same day) when my iud became displaced in a rather horrific accident. I had not seen a gyno in 5 years, the last time being the time my iud was originally inserted. My previous gyno was impersonal, unfriendly, and did not warn me of the pain of the insertion or the excruciating pain that would follow. She inserted the iud and that was it, no follow up, nothing. When I saw Dr. Westerband she immediately made me feel at ease. I could tell she cared about me and took the time to ask me thorough questions about what had happened and how we wanted to proceed. She swiftly removed the displaced IUD and got me in just a few days later to get a new one inserted. I was terrified. I was traumatized by the tremendous pain the first time and frankly almost didn't want to have another one again. Because of the experience I had on hormonal birth control, Dr. Westerband and I decided it would be a good idea to use a copper iud again. When she came in I expressed how nervous I was and she proceeded to talk me through the entire process. She told me exactly when to breathe, what the pain would be like, and exactly how much longer it would be. The thirty second procedure went by in a flash and although painful, I felt comforted and cared for which was exactly what I needed. At my follow up I expressed tremendous gratitude for her honesty and care. I look forward to coming back to Dr. Westerband for any and all gynecological appointments moving forward.

felt like a number. I tried to tell Dr I've had many blood tests over the last few months and she still wanted more .I don't feel she even read the reports I brought with me. The nice RN spent more time with me then the Dr. Asked if I should give the reports to her or Dr. RN took them. Dr didn't even touch on the report of thickening of my uterus. What caused it, tamoxifen I'm on or what ?? I still do not know. She ordered another ultrasound in 2 months. She had 2 reports already. PET scan and ultrasound from ACPNWImaging. Dr asked if I had pain, I said more like discomfort and she was out the door. I don't need my hand held but I did expect to be ask if i had any questions. Dr didn't even ask.

Dr. Westerband's staff is friendly and were certainly concerned about patient well-being with their temperature scan, social distancing, and clean pens. I was called back in a timely manner. Dr. Westerband is professional and caring. She offers tests based on my family history, always makes sure my prescriptions are up to date, and takes the time to chat with me about my health. I never know how long a doctor's appointment is going to take (regardless of what doctor I am seeing), so it was nice to be in and out so quickly. Taking off from work can sometimes be tricky.

She tried to convince and push me to not get it taken out. I had previously had a pap that came back that I was allergic to the copper iud my cervix and VERY swollen to the touch and causing a ton of issues. I wasnt asking for more medical advice or for her to even tell me her professional opinion i just wanted the copper iud OUT

SLOW TO CHECK IN. Girl behind 3' counter pulled her face mask aside to sneeze loudly into the air. Felt rushed during exam. Too many appointments crammed into time frame. When I said to the employee who sneezed, oh i thought masks were supposed to CONTAIN the sneezes, she said, "It didn't feel right.' WHAT??!

The MA didn't take any of my meds down. I felt very rushed by the doctor. I felt just as lost about my concerns as when I walked in. I showed the doctor my labs and all I got was lose some weight. I just feel like I should see another doctor for a second opinion

It always seems like an extremely short visit, less than 5 minutes. Like she's rushing onto another patient. It would be nice if she gave some sort of insight or advice on what to expect/avoid since this is my first pregnancy. My baby has been diagnosed with a cleft lip and palate, it would be helpful if she shared what she knew on the subject and what to expect with surgeries and other complications that might occur.

The doctor seemed very rushed. As a new patient, I thought she would have sat down and gone over my health history. After she examined me, she gave me a pamphlet about a cancer screening test and then she started walking out the door. I had to ask for a new prescription as she was leaving and gave me no time to ask her any questions.

Exam was for overactive bladder. Doctor said the only solution was surgery. I asked about medication and she said there wasn't any. When I got home I found over a dozen medications listed. Took urine sample in open cup placed on window sill with at least 6 other uncovered cups. As far as I know, no test for UTI was done.

I've seen Dr. Westerband for years and she is terrific. Kind, professional, upfront and helpful. I feel comfortable asking her anything and she goes out of her way to be helpful. For example, I'm now 40 so she recommended I start routine mammograms and walked me over to the receptionist to make sure I was taken care of. Many doctors will just leave you in the room for someone else to take care of.
