About Jose Almeida:
Jose I. Almeida, MD, FACS, RVT is a fellowship trained, board certified vascular surgeon in Miami, Florida and founder of the Miami Vein Center. Dr. Almeida is a pioneer in endovenous therapy – the safe, minimally invasive procedure to eradicate varicose veins.
Dr. Almeida is a leader in his field, devoted to teaching other surgeons the latest techniques in endovenous vein therapy. He is the organizer and course director of the International Vein Congress on In-Office Techniques in Miami, Florida, which is the most comprehensive vein management course to date.
He is internationally recognized for his expertise in vein care and is the author of numerous published abstracts, articles and textbook chapters on vascular surgery. He is also a frequent speaker, panelist and workshop director at medical conventions throughout the country.
Dr. Almeida completed his 5-year board certification in general surgery at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital. He went on to complete an accredited two-year vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Missouri-Columbia. To date, he is the only board certified, fellowship trained vascular surgeon dedicated to veins in Miami.
Dr. Almeida holds many distinguished titles, including Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, Diplomat of the Vascular Surgery Board – American Board of Surgery and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
