About Anita Pillai-Allen:
Dr. Anita Pillai-Allen is board certified in OB/GYN and Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Pillai-Allen graduated from Indiana University Medical School in 1988. She did her internship and residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology from 1988 to 1992 and fellowship in Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery from1992 to1994, at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis, Indiana, under the direction of Dr. J. Thomas Benson. She was in clinical practice in Honolulu, HI from August of 1994 until December of 2008. She was board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 1996. While practicing in Hawaii, she was also an associate clinical professor for 13 years, at the University of Hawaii Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program, teaching residents in their Urogynecology education. Her practice focuses on the evaluation and treatment of female pelvic floor disorders, including urinary and fecal incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections, painful bladder syndromes and pelvic organ prolapse. She and her husband are also the proud parents of four teenage children and looking forward to practicing and living in the culturally diverse area of Washington, D.C.
