Anthony L. Masciello was born in Tampa, Florida. He graduated summa cum laude from Mercer University and received his medical degree in 1985 from the University of South Florida. He completed his residency at the University of Florida Health Science Center Jacksonville in 1989. After residency he served in the National Health Service Corps providing care for disadvantaged patients in Fort Myers, Florida. He returned to Jacksonville in private practice in 1991. Dr. Masciello and his family moved to Winston-Salem in 1994 when he joined Hawthorne Ob/Gyn. He has been Division Director at both Forsyth Medical Center and Medical Park Hospital.
Since 2006, he has volunteered with Hands of Hope NC, a local medical mission group providing care in the Dominican Republic. He is also involved with Team MR8, a charitable organization in honor of Martin Richard, the 8 year old boy who died in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings. MR8 honors Martin’s message of “No more hurting people. Peace” by investing in education, athletics and community.
In addition to general obstetric and gynecologic care, he has special interest in operative hysteroscopy and laparoscopy. He enjoys running, water sports and spending time with his wife, Gena, and their son and daughter.
