Dr. McGuirk, despite running late for this appointment, did not rush the appointment simply because he was behind schedule. I appreciate that he takes the time to listen to my concerns/issues and thoroughly explain procedures and/or any information regarding my concerns.
Dr McGuirk has provided me with excellent care for many years, always with compassion and showing genuine concern for my overall well being. He spends as much time with patients as needed to get a full picture of his patient's symptoms and his extensive knowledge allows him to provide not just traditional medical guidance but also practical wellness advice to complement that guidance. When delivering difficult news many years ago, the manner in which he did it was thoughtful and reassuring, demonstrating the confidence and skill with which he successfully treated my condition. He is the doctor that every other doctor should aspire to be.
Dr McGuirk took the time to explain things to my daughter and came up with possible solutions. She has cysts on her ovaries and had been in a lot of pain. He explained why that happens and what we could do to help. He is an amazing dr. Of course, I already new that because he has been my doctor for 16 years. The time he took with her and they way he explained things were more than I could have asked for. All doctors could take a few tips from him on how to treat patients.
Love him. I have been his patient since he started ar Northwest Women's Center over 22 years ago. He know me he members me and is very up to date on my treatment. Dr McGuirk is the most caring person and listens to your concerns and explains things so you understand what he is saying. He has also taken care of many of my other non gynecology issues. He really is the best. Tell him I sent you.

Dr. McGuirk offers a comprehensive array of care and treatment options for women with acute and chronic issues including abdominal pain, pelvic pain, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, HPV infections, incontinence, vaginal dryness, vaginal discharge, PCOS, menopause and osteoporosis, as well as pregnancy care and delivery, birth control including permanent and non permanent options, STD testing and minimally-invasive surgical and diagnostic procedures including hysterectomy and colposcopy. The center also features state-of-the-art ultrasound technology, in-office minor surgical procedures, and non surgical options for urinary incontinence and vaginal rejuvenation.
After earning his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at The University of Texas in Austin, Dr. McGuirk completed his medical degree at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, followed by his OB/GYN residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He is board certified and is also a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, kids and dogs. His hobbies include travel, exercise, gardening, and cooking.
