I had a woman yesterday named Jamie (I hope) at Downtown Womens for my annual mammography appointment in NYC. I was using Lenox Radiology until DW starting having htis service this year. She was one of the kindest, coolest, most thoughtful knowledgable mammo techs I have ever worked with. She spent time with me, lettng me ask ridicuous questions about my concerns and she answered all with such compassion and kindness. I was sad to hear she is in the Manhasset office and not the NYC office. I thought she was just fantastic as if I knew her for many years. She's a keeper for whomever needs to know this. I would request her for my yearly mammo if I could.
The mammogram and ultrasound techs were great - very friendly and supportive. The environment was clean, attractive and I loved the short hospital gown tops in pretty colors, very easy to put on/off and much less dehumanizing than the usual institutional looking hospital gear. No horrible pink anything! The procedure itself was quick and painless - really one of the best experiences I've had getting a mammogram (and I've had a lot of them!).
