Lovely location, quick and efficient staff that are always pleasant. My appointment was great, it was my second time with this provider and he is so comforting, friendly and knowledgeable. He maintains a great conversation while getting done what he needs to do without making it feel rushed or unimportant.
I liked both the technician who did the vaginal ultrasound as well as Dr. Rao. Both were very professional and kind and I felt very comfortable for the entire visit.

He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 1988 at Hartford Hospital, where he received the Joseph Klein Award for outstanding performance. Dr. Rau completed a fellowship in pediatric and adolescent gynecology at the University of Tennessee, Memphis in 1991.
In addition to his practice in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Rau is Director of the Division of Gynecology at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, and sees children and adolescents for gynecologic consultations. Dr. Rau is certified in da Vinci® robotic surgery and has an active minimally-invasive gynecologic surgical practice. Dr. Rau is an Assistant Clinical Professor in ObGyn and Pediatrics at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
Dr. Rau loves playing with his grandson and granddaughter when he is not caring for others. He also enjoys running, skiing, and improving his Thai language skills.
