A native of Fairfield County, Connecticut, she attended Thomas Jefferson University, Kimmel Medical  College in Philadelphia. She has lived many places including Guam, San Diego and Seabeck, Washington while serving in the U.S. Navy.  She has traveled extensively, including  visits to Japan, Korea, China, Palau, Yap, Saipan, Greece, New Zealand and Australia.

Jennifer and her husband Peter have climbed Mt Fuiji and enjoy outdoor activities and sports. They have 3 teenage children and now call Montgomery County MD  their home!
