About Jessica Olano:
Jessica Olano, CNM, loves holding space and protecting women’s sacred birthing experience in physiologic birth. She strives to create a trusting relationship with each person, as she feels it is vital for all aspects of integrative holistic women’s health care. Jess is passionate about improving health through what she calls the five pillars of life: nutrition, exercise, stress management, sleep, and support systems. She enjoys empowering women through education, and values the importance of individualized care and shared decision making.
Jessica pursued her Nurse Midwifery degree at Frontier Nursing University and her Bachelors in Nursing at Truman State University. She has worked in women’s health care since 2013 and her passion for midwifery initially sparked during her time as a nursing student, working alongside midwives at a birthing center. This is where she learned the power women hold deep within them, how to trust our bodies and the value of high touch, low tech care. As an RN she gained experience in many settings including hospital-based labor, delivery, and postpartum, home birthing, birthing centers, and at a high-risk perinatal center. She also was a childbirth educator during her seven years as an RN. Jess is trained to provide comprehensive women’s healthcare in areas of preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, and women’s health ranging from menarche to menopause. She has completed additional training to advance her midwifery skills in areas including ultrasound, surgical first assist in cesarean delivery, and nutrition related to women’s health. Providing holistic evidenced based education for her patients is one of Jess’s greatest passions, and is continuously pursuing additional education.
Outside of midwifery, Jess enjoys helping her husband run their fitness studio, Kamikaze Fitness. She loves many forms of exercise but running, weight lifting, hiking, and boxing are her favorites. She also enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and experimenting with new recipes.
