Dr. Carr is always great! For some reason I'm always super anxious and nervous to go to doctor appointments but she's very personable and listens to you, which really helps calm those nerves. She had a resident with her at my appointment, which I'm always quick to say no because of the nervousness and talking to different/unfamiliar doctors, but I'm glad I didn't this time because the resident was also very great! One more positive, Dr. Carr responds to messages very quickly in the portal. Sometimes I can't always make a phone call or answer calls due to work, so having that ability to send a message and getting a quick response is a huge plus!
I am not giving 5 stars for two reasons. This was my first visit and typically at my primary the doctor leaves and then i wait for the health tech to come back with prescription and paperwork detailing next steps and things to consider. Dr. Carr left and i waited another 20+ minutes in the room until a tech came and told me i could just leave. Also - Dr. Carr mentioned 'blood clot/fatal' in her verbal description of going on HRT. I came to Dr. Carr after being blown off by my primary doctor for years (for 'risks associated with breast cancer' when i inquired about HRT). I'm 9 yrs post menopause so this is a big deal for me to understand whether i am a candidate and what are the risks. I would have at least appreciated something like a pamphlet or other describing HRT and what are the risks. I thought at least when i picked up the script at the doctor store that there would be attached paperwork detailing risks and other information about the drugs like my other prescriptions always have attached. There was absolutely no paperwork attached to my prescriptions detailing risks and side effects. Now i need to call back to her office and have someone send me info about the 'low risk of blood clot' that she mentioned verbally. tx
