About Melissa Black:

Melissa Black is a Certified Nurse-Midwife who completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at the University of South Carolina Columbia in 2003. For 18 years she has worked as a Registered Nurse in various areas including labor & delivery, home health, and the legal field. She obtained her Master’s degree in Nursing – Nurse Midwifery from East Carolina University.

Melissa has called Wayne County, NC home since 2008. She lives in Mount Olive, NC with her husband, Chris, who is retired from the U.S. Air Force, and their two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and taking care of the animals on their hobby farm. Melissa is passionate about women’s health, patient education, and advocacy and she is excited to be a part of the Wayne Women’s Clinic team!
