About Rachel LaMonica:
Rachel LaMonica, DO, grew up in Long Island and attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She attended graduate school at SUNY Stony Brook, and medical school at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Westbury, New York, graduating in 2005.
Early in her medical school training, Dr. LaMonica discovered her passion for Women's Health. She moved to Connecticut and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut. Upon graduation from residency, she began a 2 year fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at The Hospital of Central Connecticut under the direction of Anthony Luciano, MD. In this program, she trained in laparoscopic and robotic surgery and medical management of benign gynecologic diseases such as endometriosis, fibroids, and pelvic pain.
Dr. LaMonica has a special interest in a minimally invasive approach to gynecologic surgery. She is an active member of both the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy (AAGL) and American Society of Reproductive Medicine/Society of Reproductive Surgeons (ASRM/SRS).
Dr. LaMonica‘s mission is to provide compassionate care to her patients, and to offer expertise in minimally invasive surgery and gyn ultrasound training to the next generation of women’s health professionals. She lives in Hartford County with her husband and two children. She enjoys vacationing with her family, amusement parks, music, wine collecting, and practices self-care with her own health and fitness.
