Reena Patel, MD

Dr. Reena Patel was born in the California Bay Area and moved to Raleigh when she was 12. She attended UCLA, where she majored in biology. She then went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Nursing at DePaul University in Chicago. While working as an OB/labor & delivery nurse in the Raleigh/Durham area, she made the decision to go to medical school. After attending medical school at East Carolina University, she completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Wake Forest University.

Dr. Patel enjoys being able to incorporate her background as a nurse in providing compassionate and comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology care. She is passionate about involving each individual in a shared decision-making process regarding their care and promoting education and empowerment. She enjoys both medical and surgical management, with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Patel is a trained and certified da Vinci robotic and laparoscopic surgeon.

In her spare time, Reena enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as anything outdoors, including swimming, biking, and hiking. She is also an animal lover and an animal rescue advocate!
