About Summer Gilmer:

Dr. Summer Gilmer was born in Spartanburg, SC, where she attended undergrad at Wofford College. She received a BS in biology. She then attended the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and received her MD in 2005. She completed her residency at MAHEC in Asheville in 2009.

For the past five years Summer has worked as a physician with Harmony Center for Women in Boone. She lives in Asheville with her husband and two children. She enjoys tennis, reading and playing hide-and-seek with her toddlers.
