Dr. Summer Gilmer was born in Spartanburg, SC, where she attended undergrad at Wofford College. She received a BS in biology. She then attended the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and received her MD in 2005. She completed her residency at MAHEC in Asheville in 2009.
