About Tianna Greene:
Prior to joining City of Oaks Midwifery, Tianna worked as a Labor and Delivery and Postpartum Nurse for a total of 4 years. After graduating from Frontier Nursing University’s Nurse Midwifery Program with a Master of Science in Nursing in 2016, she started her midwifery career at Jersey City Medical Center where she provided exceptional and culturally competent care for the women of Jersey City, New Jersey. Tianna likes to say that she was destined to be a Midwife from birth, since midwifery has been a part of her life from a very young age. Her mother has been practicing as a Midwife for over 25yrs and her grandmother also worked as a midwife in her home country of Guyana before moving to the states.
Tianna was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and family is everything to her. She along with her husband and two boys, Carter and Evan recently relocated to North Carolina in November 2020 from New Jersey. She obtained her first Bachelors of Science degree in Legal Studies from St. John’s University in Staten Island, New York before returning back to school to pursue her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Tianna was drawn to the field of midwifery because of her passion for the advocacy of women’s rights, her love for education, and her desire to reduce the unfortunate health care disparities amongst women and babies of color. She strives to build a mutually respectful and trusting relationship with each woman she encounters to ensure that they feel valued and that their voices do not go unheard. It is Tianna’s aspiration that all women she serves know that they are safe and well cared for during their most vulnerable and sacred moments.
When she is not providing respectful, individualized, and compassionate care, she loves spending her time with her family. She especially enjoys exploring the outdoors with her boys, traveling while immersing herself into new cultures, cooking delicious meals, and family dance parties. Babywearing, music, make-up artistry, and fashion are some of her other passions.
