About Me: I grew up outside of Milwaukee, but for most of my adult life I have called the Twin Cities home. When I am not working I love to travel to exotic locations where I am always looking for an excuse to scuba dive. When I am not working I love to travel to exotic locations where I am always looking for an excuse to scuba dive. My favorite adventures closer to home include spending time with friends and family, enjoying cycling, rock climbing, or grabbing a good meal. I also try to spoil my two cats, Max and Tanuki, as much as possible. Education: Upon completing a multidisciplinary undergraduate degree in Child Psychology, Life Sciences, and Spanish at the University of Minnesota, I began my medical education at University of Wisconsin at Madison. I couldn’t be gone from the Cities for too long, so I returned to the University of Minnesota for my residency. Why I Went Into This Field: I chose the field of obstetrics and gynecology because it is an area of medicine that combines my varied interests. While in medical school I found that I was drawn to surgery, but I also had a desire to get to know and truly build relationships with my patients. On an average day, I am able to help my patients achieve their health goals and treatment through counseling, surgery, and procedures. I have specific interests in general obstetrics, management of vulvar dermatoses, and complex contraception. Most of all, I look forward to helping empower women to be active participants in caring for their own health.
