I have been a patient for nearly 20 years. Sometimes my appointments feel rushed, other times she'll give enough time to answer questions and this last visit I felt completely brushed off, as if she didn't have the time to discuss my concerns. Unfortunately I don't have a close group of friends to ask questions regarding menopause and their symptoms, therefore any info I obtain comes from the internet.

She is trained in the techniques of endometrial ablation and advanced hysteroscopic procedures, and especially skilled in minimally invasive surgery for the treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, and ovarian cysts.
Dr. Elizabeth Barbee attended medical school at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, where she also received a master’s degree in public health. She completed her residency in OB/GYN at New York-Presbyterian Hospital’s Cornell Campus. Her fellowship training was in urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery at UNC under the guidance of Dr. Ellen Wells and Dr. Tony Visco, two of the premiere urogynecologists in the Southeast.
A medical professional dedicated to her community, Dr. Barbee has served on the steering committee for the Loyalty Fund, helping to obtain pledges from graduating medical students for contributions to the Medical Foundation. She has volunteered as a “cancer buddy,” a program that matches UNC students with pediatric cancer patients. This program provides a friendly environment for the patients while they are in the clinic and in the hospital, as well as a support network for the parents. As a care provider for the Student Health Action Committee (SHAC), Dr. Barbee participated in a stunt run for a free clinic for local indigent patients.
