The reason I am giving this rating is because I requested and filled out the form to send a copy of the report to my referral physician. I have a Reveal Linq device implanted left of my sternum into my left breast area. The technician was careful to avoid compressing it and it seems he took views to get as much of my left breast in the mammogram.

I am 63 years old and have walked out on the only 2 mammograms I have attempted, due to pain. The technician (wish I could remember her name) was very kind and sweet and worked with me through successfully completing the scan. The technician wasn't as good as my last visit in 2018 Maybe due to Covid - 19 I felt she rushed through the visit and didn't explain the bone density loss Having osteoporosis in spine and hips No explanation like the last visit And the triage nurse when she called me about the visit, days later was very vague to as how the test went. I felt very disappointed, coldness and rushing through the call. My concerns and questions weren't answered by her so another triage nurse called me back later. She was more patient and listened better than the first triage nurse I have to follow up with Dr Nurtus-Walsh and do a bloodwork now and hopefully it'll be a better experience

Prior to the procedure the technician noticed that it was only 1 year since my last test. Medicare only pays for the test every two years and there was no other medical reason given to test me more frequently. She gave me the option to have the test anyway as my doctor was not available to contact at that time. I opted to wait and have my doctor inform me if the test was really needed at one year. I REALLY appreciated he technician's attention to detail and giving me the opportunity to decide if I wanted to have the test or confirm with my doctor if it is necessary at this time. She saved me from a potentially unnecessary expense.

I didn't find the front desk personnel to be very friendly or helpful. After changing back into my clothes and leaving the dressing room one of the staff was waiting nearby with a spray bottle and towel. It was clear she has been waiting for me to leave to clean and I found it to be in bad taste to wait right outside the dressing area. It made me feel like I was on an assembly line. When I left no one told me when to expect my results or followed up with me. It has been a week since my mammogram and I still haven't seen the results in my portal. I had to call the office to inquire about when to expect my results. During the mammogram one of my x rays had to be redone because the technician accidentally misestimated the position of my robe (which she arranged) and it showed in the x ray. I don't appreciate being exposed to more radiation due to an unnecessary mistake. I am happy with my gynecology at orange coast women's medical group but I would not return for my yearly mammogram after this experience.

There were a number of concerns I had as it related to Covid 19. First, when checking into the lobby, I was told that I could not wear latex gloves. At other [practice] locations this has not been a problem. Second, the door leading into the suite was not propped open. There were no placards on chairs to ensure social distancing. Last, and perhaps most concerning...after I changed into my robe and was waiting in the changing room, I glanced across the hallway to another room where 2 employees were sitting and talking. One of the employees was the person who conducted my mammogram. She was wearing her mask during the conversation with the other employee. The other employee had her mask pulled down around her chin. I waited to see if she was drinking or eating something, but she was not. I kept staring hoping they'd make eye contact and see the concern on my face, but they did not. The employees were not social distancing and were sitting right next to one another. For a medical facility, it seems that employees should follow the rules during these unprecedented times to ensure the safety of staff and PATIENTS. I was not going to say anything but since you sent this survey, I wanted to bring this to your attention. It was a true disappointment and only added to the anxiety I was feeling. Thank you.
I was able to pre-register in advance, online. I arrived 25 minutes early in case there was more paper-work. The spacious waiting room only had one or two other people, who were called right away. They called me in within 5 minutes. I was finished almost before the actual time of my appointment. It was all so smooth and efficient and I felt very safe.

The tech was cold and not kind. The way she positioned me and held my leg tightly under her arm was uncomfortable and annoying. She seemed to be in a rush and answered one question I had with a sarcastic and rude answer. I have had three other exact ultrasounds to this one and this was by far the worst. I'm just thankful that there wasn't any bad news during the ultrasound as I would not want her to be the one to deliver it.
I knew what to expect...nothing changed (procedure wise) from prior years. The exam does not take long...can expect to be in and out within 15 minutes at the most!

I was in extreme pain, due to N.P. Carolyn Patchett using a speculum that was too large. It felt as if the speculum was serrated, cutting into my uterus for approx. 5 minutes. After I asked her to remove the device 3 times, she finally removed the speculum. She then inserted another device. I asked her what device she inserted then second time, as it was no longer cutting me inside. Carolyn Patchett inserted a smaller speculum. I also mentioned to my OBGYN that I would like a pediatric speculum used vaginally going forward.
Technician, phlebotomist, and office personnel were all professional, caring and friendly.
The "wait" time was too long. My appointment was at 4:20. I arrived on time & waited in my car until I received a text (at 4:20) to go up to the office where I filled out requisite questionnaire. After waiting approximately 10 minutes in the waiting room, I asked how much longer. I was told there were 3 people in the back area already & one person ahead of me still in the waiting room. Conservatively, at 5 min. per patient (not including sanitizing/cleaning) I was looking at 20+ MORE minutes sitting in a waiting room (with a mask on) with 3 OCWMG staff & 1 person in the waiting room. I have diligently avoided this type of situation for the past 2 months and exactly what I didn't want to happen was happening. I went to front desk & said I was going back to my car & to text me when they truly were ready to see me. They suggested I wait on the outside patio which was fine with me as long as it was not inside the waiting room. This was unexceptional to me in the "covid" times.

I "preregistered" the night before online but then when I got there, I was asked to take the tablet and fill out ADDITIONAL questions. This was extremely frustrating for me because the last thing I wanted to do was touch a tablet that everyone else touches when I clearly was available to do that the night before with the several other questions I was asked to answer. I just don't understand why they couldn't all be done at home in one questionnaire. Also, I had to wait 30 minutes in the waiting room and did not feel that any of these practices were of good practice during this pandemic. I will be avoiding this office for quite a while now!
The ultrasound technician explained the procedure well and was gentle during my entire vaginal ultrasound. My gynecologist, Dr. Kong, was able to share the results with me immediately and was also able to answer my questions and ease my worries about by upcoming surgery.

I only wish I could fill out ALL forms on-line before I arrived (I still had to fill one out in person, even though I had filled out another form on-line before my arrival). Very nice technician. Technician was informative and kind. Dr. Mendelsohn called me the very next day personally to let me know the results. She was thorough, informative, and Very compassionate. She called immediately with the results so I would not worry and assume the worse. I'm very thankful for her compassion and knowledge.

Was not happy to find that I had to enter information on an iPad when I arrived that was handled by no less than three people behind the desk before it was handed to me. When I let them know I had already completed the information electronically, as per email instructions, I was told this is for different information. Waiting room chairs are not spaced in anyway and even though there were only a few patients, one sat directly next to me and removed her mask. Staff did not instruct her to replace her mask. I relocated to another area.

I actually had 2 procedures that day, bone density/mammogram. My appointment was in the morning & I was taken back immediately after the normal check in process. Both procedures were done in the same office so I didn't have to leave. The tech, Jerilyn, was great & also concerned about my comfort in the procedures. She explained what she was going to do prior to the procedure. Total time in the office for both appointments was about 45 minutes. No waiting involved. Our lives are busy these days so it's really nice to come to one office and have everything done at the same time. Thank you OCW for the awesome customer service & the convenience of having all your appointments done in one day.
It was my first doctor appointment since Covid19. I was very concerned about my health's safety going to the doctor's office so I called ahead to inquire how they were handling this situation. I was pleased to hear they were not taking just anyone at that time. When I went in the patients that were in the reception area had enough room to do adequate social distancing, people were wearing masks, and they also had plenty of hand sanitizer since I was not able to wear my gloves inside the building.

At 3:20 a pt walks in for a 3:30 and is taken back at 3:25. I stand up as I sat and watched many people come in and be called and asked why a person with a 3:30 appt is being called. It is now 3:30 and was told she had a doc visit my point to your staff was I had a 3 pm appt that would take 10 minutes and was not called til 3:30 no matter what the other patient had she showed up at 3:20.
Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful especially during this Covid-19 pandemic. I appreciate that staff are still working and risking their own health to keep the rest of us healthy!

Facility is immaculate, dressing room and treatment room were lovely and inviting. However, the most impressive part of my experience was the office staff. The front desk staff greeted me, signed me in, updated my EHR, and then I was taken to the changing room. Once I was changed into my very nice, white, soft robe the amazing technician who would conduct my exam came for me. She was fabulous, professional, efficient and obviously highly skilled. I could not tell you one thing that could have been done to enhance my patient experience. It is difficult to improve on perfection! Great job...you are a Best in Class practice!
The receptionist was friendly and welcoming, I wasn't kept waiting, the person who took the images was professional and friendly, all went smoothly.
I was very disappointed with the ultrasonographer and the entire experience. The ultrasonographer barely spoke to me, my husband or the baby. Only interacted with us because she has to. Couldn't or wouldn't even smile and didn't bother to explain anatomy or what she was looking at.
The technician (I may not be spelling her name right) Eco was very informative about what she was going to do and from time to time asked if I was doing okay. Very kind, very friendly.
Lisa the Sonographer was AMAZING! She was very thorough and explained what she was doing at all times. She made me feel comfortable and even showed me the previous exam to compare results from last year vs this year.

My Ultrasound technician (I believe her name was Lisa but I can't remember) and Dr. Patel were so wonderful and kind. I went in for an IUD removal but unfortunately they were unable to remove it. I was upset that the procedure did not work as planned but was very happy with with the care I received throughout the process. It was extremely painful and I was so scared but Lisa held my hand the entire time while she was managing the ultrasound machine. She was so kind and encouraging while keeping me calm. Dr. Patel was as gentle as possible and very informative. Both women were rockstars and truly care about the well-being of their patients.

The tech was fine, it was not an exciting appointment for pregnancy so overall it was stressful, but not because of anything the tech did.
I felt that the doctor was in a hurry and did not take the time to make a thorough exam. The pelvic exam lasted for a few seconds and it was a bit painful. Although the pelvic/ultrasound was prescribed, it had been 10 months since my last ultrasound (have ovarian cysts and fibroids) and it seemed that the focus during the ultrasound exam was to find these specific cysts and fibroids and not to screen/identify any potential new growths etc. After the tests showed again the presence of cysts (slightly larger than last time) I was not informed about a future plan of action (if there would be another follow up on the cysts etc.) and would have to pay for another site visit just to discuss that.
I didn't have to wait long. The technicians were understanding and informative on my procedure.
Was told I would see the doctor right after and did not, also wasn't given instructions that I needed for the ultrasound and was told when I got there that I did not adequately prepare.
I called back quickly and asked to change. I barely waited a minute or two before I was called by the technician. She was friendly and efficient. The changing area was comfortable and the robes were nice.

More disappointed than dissatisfied. The technician gave me my choice of whether to keep my shoes on or not when she was going to measure my height. My shoes had 1 inch soles so this would have skewed the results. She then put the measurement stick incorrectly on my head and then told me I was an inch shorter than what I am. When you have osteopenia, you really don't want to be told you've shrunk an inch. I asked her to remeasure as I knew she had done it incorrectly, so she did. At this point, I had very little confidence in her abilities going forward.
I had blood work, mammogram and bone density all in 1 hour and same office! Excellent! Super fast results!

The technician didn't give me any clear answers about what she saw. It was very quick and extremely impersonal. I asked her a couple questions like, did I ovulate? what does it look like? She didn't have any clear answers and didn't have the doctor follow up with me either. I came back again a week later and the same thing, except the latest time the technician told me she would have the doctor call me which cleared up some questions I had.
I wasn't given a more clear indication about my preparation for the procedure. I had to have the procedure redone for lack of clear images, as a result the solution used for the two procedures got my clothes wet. I had never experienced this in any procedure. Lastly, I was convinced that an internal procedure could be done quickly which was what I was wanting to avoid in the first place. I had an assistant take my blood pressure before I spoke to Dr. Lam and it showed an increase. I have always had low blood pressure. I am not writing this to blame anyone, but hope initial information can be presented more clearly by a phone call in preparation for the procedure.

Ultrasound lady- (seems new) was not polite. Healthcare professionals/workers should understand the anxiety that any patient is feeling at any procedure no matter how minor or how simple it is. Smiles can help. No introduction of her name and how she will do the procedure. I told her I am uncomfortable because my bladder is full, just straight up and answered, "it is needed on your procedure" which is true but no reassurance.

The ultrasound technician was wonderful and understanding, even though she was doing a retained products ultrasound after miscarriage. My experience with Dr. Mendelsohn was very positive, one of my most positive, given the circumstances. She was so warm and sympathetic and understanding as I was fragile from miscarriage. She walked me through every step, especially when she performed a manual extraction of remaining tissue. She was great with my husband too, and gave him instructions of things to say to encourage and support me. She has definitely become more warm and nurturing and less clinical feeling.

This was for an ultrasound and endometrial biopsy. The pain level of the biopsy was beyond severe. Why wasn't I offered an option with some type of sedation? It should not be assumed that every women should just have to endure that level of pain.

The technician took as much time as needed to get a good image, and the doctor not only looked at the image, but came into the room to examine the area imaged herself as well as to talk to me. Everyone was caring, professional, and knowledgeable.

When I arrived I asked if this year's exam would be covered by my insurance. Last year I got charged for the new 3D testing because my insurance didn't cover it yet. This time I wanted to know what to expect in terms of a bill. The office worker told me to call my insurance company myself and gave me a code. I sat in the waiting room on the phone for 20 minutes to get this information. The examiner had to wait for me and then my test was late. This is the first time I have been to a doctors office where the office doesn't predetermine coverage. I asked if she could do it for me as I know the insurance company takes a while to answer when members call and she said no even though they were not helping other patients. I know the group is big but as much as I like Dr. Walsh I do not like the groups customer service for many reasons. I am happy to elaborate so please contact me if you are interested.
The tech was very pleasant, but I waited for an hour before I was seen. The imaging itself took another hour, which for all I know is normal, but it felt like forever, especially after such a long wait.
All were very professional. My exam was very personal. The outcome could have been life changing. I am thankful for kind and well trained employees.

The mammogram process is incredibly efficient. From the use of iPads to quickly update information, to being brought to the dressing room with minimal delay, to having the mammogram done quickly and easily, it just runs smoothly. Add to it that everyone is very friendly... it's one annual visit I don't dread. :)
Check in was quick and efficient. I was in and out of my mammogram in less than 15 minutes! I did labs that morning as well and the entire visit took less than 30 minutes. Simply wonderful!
My exam was an uncomfortable one but they made me feel as comfortable as possible. They made jokes, explained everything to me, were patient, answered all my questions and just were very friendly and informative. I really appreciated them for it as they made the procedure not as unpleasant.

The gown was large! The tech was awesome - kind and able to make you feel as comfortable as possible in a not-so-comfortable situation! Reception staff smiled were attentive and wished me a good day on the way out. Wait time was extremely quick and even though I was a little late, I was treated respectfully and with kindness.

My appointment was for 3:00 pm. I was in the area around noon and checked to see if there were any cancellations so that I might be able to be seen earlier. To my surprise, they were able to take me then. The receptionist was very nice. The technician was very nice also, and explained the procedure to me. As I was leaving, I asked another receptionist if I could have a copy of the results mailed to me. She had me fill out some information and took care of everything. I was very impressed with my experience there.

When I made the appointment, nobody told me it was in a different office. Nothing was online about it being in a different office, no email, nothing, so I had a horrible time figuring out why the office I went to originally was locked. How can you not tell your patients that the mammogram would be taken at a different location?

I had a future scheduled appointment. My day fell apart at work I ended up not working. I walked in to your office at 8 AM explained my situation that I would wait all day long to get my blood drawn and my mammogram done so I would not have to miss work, in a few weeks for my scheduled appointment. The front girls were extremely accommodating understanding my situation had me fill out my paperwork update on the portal my insurance information, and told me they would get me in as quickly as possible. I was literally there maybe one hour total from beginning to end. Both technicians that did my mammogram and my blood drawn were awesome, no missteps, extremely efficient and very personable. How lucky was I! I got to make the most of my day off work to take care of my health and your office made me so at ease and comfortable about being a walk-in. Thank you!

It is very scary being called back for a mammogram. When I was waiting in to be taken in for my test I met a woman who was 32 and just had a double mastectomy and the cancer was back. You all have such a hard job. I was one of the lucky ones that day, but I will never forget that young woman and the preciousness of each day.
Dissatisfied with the wait time. Always about 4 or 5 people ahead of you and feel waiting, feel like a piece of cattle and they rushed you. I has always going to get up and ask if they forgot about me. They do not spend enough time with you but when they get to they explain and ask if you have questions. I think they are over worked and staying to keep on a time schedule. I have have 3 experiences at this location.
I liked the 3D mammogram, the staff were extremely professional and efficient, and I was in and out in less than a half hour--a big difference from some of the long waits I have had at my previous mammogram facility.
Not only did my diagnostic mammogram show a false positive result, but the technician was very skilled in producing clear mammogram images for diagnosis, but the radiologist was very nice and to the point in explaining the false positive results. The technician was also very kind and encouraging in the beginning and generously gave me a hug at the end, which was very comforting.

The appointment was on time. Didn't wait a long time. The lady taking the imaging was methodical and efficient, no redos. I was done in no time.
I showed up for my imaging and the office did not have my order that was faxed by my MD, I then was in waiting area where I was in a robe and was told that I would have to wait a couple of hours while they were waiting for my OBGYN office to open and for the MD to arrive to resend order. There is already worry associated with the visit, my husband took off work to be with me and I had arranged for my kids to get rides to school to only find that I would reschedule my visit for 4 days later. I followed up the next day to confirm that the order was received and the office knew nothing about it, I called my OBGYN and I was told this order was faxed 2 days prior to my scheduled appointment. They apologized and stated they would re-fax. I then received a call from the breast center requesting that I make another co-pay on the next scheduled visit. Overall disappointed with this process, especially under the circumstances.
The U/S tech was wonderful and she made me feel very comfortable. She was very good at explaining everything.

The appointment went smoothly. Only issue is the maker of the examination bed... it's sized for someone probably like 6 foot tall. Even the tech had issues with it, but we made it work.
