Verified Patient Reviews for Jason Alvarez, MD
The woman at the front desk is always pleasant. It is easy to schedule a follow-up appt. The tech that saw me before Dr. A seemed proficient and was also very pleasant. Dr. A is always very willing to explain things to you in a way that is understandable.
Dr. Alvarez was great. I think more communication with the anesthesiologist would have been good. Also better communication before cancellation of a procedure on the surgery center's end should occur.
Always pleasant and explains step by step.
Well, the surgery worked and I do see better. However, the procedure was a miserable experience. I was told by friends who have also had cataract surgery that they were pretty out of it during the procedure. That was NOT my experience! I am very thankful that my eyes were totally numb, because I was very aware of everything going on. I white knuckled the first procedure and when I informed the staff that I was not at all relaxed, even though they upped the "relaxing" medication on the second eye, it wasn't much better. Thank God I only have 2 eyes and never have to go through that again! I have also noticed that for some reason, since the surgeries, both eyelids are drooping where they didn't prior to cataract surgery. I hope that gets better.
