Dr. Joanna Buell grew up in Baton Rouge, LA. When she was young, she started babysitting for the local OBGYN, and eventually worked in his office. At Louisiana State University, pursuing medicine seemed like a natural next step. She earned a BS in Zoology from LSU and was awarded the President’s Scholar distinction. After graduating from LSU, Dr. Buell attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham to finish her medical training, and her residency was then completed at The Ohio State University. During her intern year, Dr. Buell met her husband, and they now reside in Upper Arlington with their 3 boys and 1 daughter, ages 9 to 2. In her free time, Dr. Buell enjoys reading fiction, shopping at Trader Joe’s, working on puzzles, and people-watching on her front porch.
