I came in to have an examination for a new problem I have been experiencing. It was completely new territory. I had no idea that I was suffering from a skin condition on my vagina and it happens to be a chronic condition. I did not pay attention to the symptoms for months. I was able to actually get a picture of the affected area. I had no idea what was down there. Dr. O'Brien obliged and I was very grateful to get a visual on the skin condition. I now have a very clear idea of what the problem is and I was prescribed medication to help make it better. Thank you it was a very productive and enlightening appointment. Also I was seen on very short notice. It was my first visit with Dr. O'Brien as I normally see a different practitioner for my annuals. I was delighted that Dr. O'Brien had read my history in the portal and gotten to know a little bit about my case as a patient and basically where I was in my menopause journey. That preparation was impressive to me and important for context. She has a warm, down to earth manner and gave me the facts good and bad. When I told her I stopped taking the estradiol because it was messy, she immediately prescribed something different to try that would be less messy. I appreciated that. I definitely felt heard and seen.
Dr. O'Brien is a great listener. She takes time to talk with you, gives you time to ask questions and makes you feel at ease. She's personable and has a great bedside manner.
