Excellent care and doctors who really listen!
Dr. Carlton and the nurses at Biltmore OB Gyn are kind, friendly, and caring. They really make a stressful process much easier to deal with.
Dr. Carlton is so respectful and takes the time to get to know her patients and understand what’s going on
I find every person in this office to be above and beyond professional. From the front reception to Dr. Carlton, it is a lovely experience. (One could do without the gum chewing during the mammogram however!).
Dr. Carlton was very kind and really took the time to explain things to me and address all of my many questions and concerns. She was also much more gentle when performing my pap than my last OB/GYN. I also greatly appreciated that I was promptly seen and treated at my scheduled appointment time, and I did not feel rushed during my appointment (unlike my previous OB/GYN).

Dr. Laura Carlton completed her undergraduate education at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. She majored in Chemistry and French and spent semesters abroad studying religion in Southeast Asia and neocolonialism in Senegal. After working on the Haiti cholera outbreak with the CDC’s Enteric Diseases Laboratory Branch, she continued her education at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, where she was awarded the Beatrice Tucker award for women’s health advocacy. She then returned to Atlanta for residency at Emory University, where she had the privilege to learn from the wonderful doctors, staff and patients at Grady Memorial Hospital. There, her research focused on disparities in cervical cancer screening and follow-up and received the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology trainee research award. She also served as a resident representative to the Graduate Medical Education committee. Her interests include adolescent health and family planning, health literacy, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and the benefits of diet and exercise on women’s health.
Dr. Carlton lives in West Asheville with her husband Wes and pesky beagle, Margot. Outside of work, she enjoys weightlifting, yoga, hiking the mountains of North Carolina, watching documentaries, speaking French, and planning her next outdoor adventure.
