Dr. Bewtra grew up in Maryland and graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. She then attended Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, receiving her Medical Degree in 1997.

She returned to the East Coast and completed her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Downtown Hospital in New York City.
