Mireya has always been interested in educating people with diabetes and her final career goal was to become a Certified Diabetes Educator. She received her certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (formerly known as Certified Diabetes Educator) in 2013. For the past 8 years, she has been working at Genesis OB/GYN Maternal Fetal Medicine. It is still her passion to continue providing nutrition education and diabetes self-care management for patients with diabetes in pregnancy to improve their health and well-being to achieve a healthy pregnancy.
