My original appointment was scheduled in January. The morning of my appointment, there was a freeze. I called the office to see if they would be open. They said they would. Then, minutes before I left, I got a notification that they would be closing, and they would call me to reschedule. After two days of waiting, I called them to reschedule. I couldn’t get in to see my doctor for SIX MONTHS. I asked to be put on a cancellation list. I was told that they don’t have that, but I could call back every day. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Literally every other doctor’s office has a wait list. Completely ridiculous. Dr. Molly Shields is amazing, and is the ONLY reason why I continue to visit your practice as an established patient. If this was my first time, I would have just gone somewhere else. However, if you are unable to renegotiate with BCBS, I’ll be leaving anyway.
Dr Shields was very attentive to my concerns, very helpful and encouraging. She developed a plan for my care with a follow up in 2 months. I was also very pleased that when I called to get an appointment she didn’t have anything for several months but when I called back a couple of times inquiring if she had a cancellation, they got me in that week! I appreciated that so much. Dr Reyes was my doc for 28 years but so thankful he is enjoying his retirement and Dr Shields is my new doc.

Everyone was so nice, did not wait long at all in the waiting room even though I was early, Dr. S was very nice and answered all my questions.
Dr. Shields was attentive and immediately expressed a concern with my exam. I was immediately sent to have an ultrasound and came right back for Dr. Shields to let me know of findings. All in the same visit. Unheard of in today's times.
Very helpful in providing the information I needed.
Everything that was needed was done with care, privacy, concern and general ease. Dr. Shields and I discussed where I am in menopausal life and all that it entails. Got my yearly exams. Excellent.

Molly Shields MD earned her Bachelor of Science from Trinity University in San Antonio. She then went to medical school at the University of Texas Medical School For her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Shields went to the University of Texas Health Science Center. This well-rounded training and education have allowed her to become an exceptional OBGYN.
When treating patients, Dr. Shields believes that compassion and collaboration are key. She strives to put herself in her patient’s shoes as she works with them to develop customized plans of care.
Our San Antonio OBGYN provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including routine and high-risk prenatal care, well-woman exams and preventive care, contraceptive counseling and management, minimally invasive surgery, and management of abnormal bleeding and menopausal symptoms. She delivers her patients at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital.
Dr. Shields lives with her husband and two young sons. Her hobbies include photography, scuba diving, and cooking for her family and friends.
