While in London, Dr. Heyes conducted research collaborating with Mayo Clinic in Arizona which resulted in him being offered a research fellowship in the Head and Neck Regenerative Medicine Laboratory led by Dr. David Lott. Dr. Heyes subsequently completed his residency training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Dr. Heyes is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, the American Rhinological Society, and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is board eligible with the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Heyes' research has been published in many of the field's leading journals, and he remains engaged in academics as a peer reviewer for Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the official peer-reviewed publication of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Heyes is excited to offer advanced surgical techniques developed during his training at Mayo Clinic. These include: Comprehensive nasal surgery including rhinoplasty and image-guided endoscopic sinus surgery Head and neck surgery for tumors and diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid and salivary glands Surgery for obstructive sleep apnea including hypoglossal nerve stimulator implantation (Inspire®) Ear surgery, including cochlear implantation for hearing loss in adults Cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery Pediatric ENT Voice and swallowing disorders Allergy testing and treatment in collaboration with Dr. Jodi Rubin. Dr. Heyes is married with two young daughters. After an enjoyable year practicing in Palm Beach, Florida, he and his family are excited to return to Scottsdale.
