My previous OBGYN has retired from this practice and Dr. Gildersleeve was assigned to me for my annual appointment. He met me for the first time knowledgable about my history and clear about best practices for my situation. He stated his understanding of my medical situation clearly and I was happy to know that he had a plan. I am satisfied with the direction he recommended and am planning to continue working with him.
I felt heard.

Staff friendly and courtesy
Everyone in the office is so kind and easy to work with. Dr. Gildersleeve is an incredible doctor who always takes the time to listen and explain things. From start to finish they all made the surgical process smooth and easy. He is one of a kind, and I trust him greatly with my care.
Everyone is super nice and polite there. Office is very clean. Always accommodating. He is always very friendly and knowledgeable. Him and his medical assistant or nurse both interact every time and always answer all questions. Very thorough both of them. I won't go to anyone else he makes you feel very comfortable at each visit.

After growing up in Connecticut, Robert K. Gildersleeve, MD, studied electrical engineering at the University of Connecticut. He quickly realized his preference to work with people and entered the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, graduating in 1995. He followed his wife-to-be (Kristin Gildersleeve, MD, now a family doctor in Hebron, CT) to Colorado where she did her residency. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado in 1999. Rob and Kristin left many dear friends (and mountains) in Colorado, returning to be closer to both of their families. Rob has been with OBGYN and Midwifery of Connecticut since graduating in 1999. He also spent time working as a Gyn specialist at the Neag Cancer Center at the University of Connecticut Health Center. He is proud to maintain affiliations with Yale School of Nursing, instructing Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners, as well as the University of Connecticut School of Medicine as a clinical instructor. He actively seeks additional training in order to offer the most advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques available.
With patients, Rob finds sharing his experience and training one of the most fulfilling parts of his job. His professional affiliations include the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the American Medical Association, the Windham County Medical Association, and the Greater Hartford OB/GYN Society.
Rob loves sports and coaches his kids as much as he can (soccer, lacrosse, baseball). Whenever possible he plays lacrosse, hockey, tennis, golf, or anything else. Rob and Kristin’s favorite family activity is skiing, especially when they return to their friends in the Rocky Mountains.
