The doctors in my area never looked or felt my breast to see exactly what was going on. I was sent for a mammogram and a few months later for an MRI. Both showed they were negative for cancer but they did not explain why the skin was thickening in the breast that had radiation in 2012. I was a patient for Dr. Quinlan's for many years and trust her. She palpated my breast and said she thought it was a thickening of the skin and there was no lump. She was able to push the breast tissue under the thickening part. I have no pain in the area but she did say if it bothered me to call the surgeon to have a skin biopsy for my peace of mind. I have a great deal of admiration for her as she is the only doctor who suggested a biopsy.
