Amanda Huepfel, MD

“After taking a high school physiology class where I was fascinated by the intricacies of the human body, I knew that I wanted to become a physician, says Dr. Amanda Huepfel. “When I delivered a baby for the first time, it was a life-changing experience. At that moment I knew I wanted to specialize in Obstetrics & Gynecology.” Dr. Huepfel loves connecting with patients and building trust. She says it’s a privilege to bond with women and walk with them through whatever they face in all phases of their lives.

Prenatal & Childbirth

“I find it humbling and incredible to be a part of that special moment when a family grows and a mother meets her baby for the first time,” shares Dr. Huepfel. Her experience in sub-specialties such as infertility is a benefit to her patients, along with her ability to keep them calm when unexpected situations arise, like an unplanned cesarean birth. A new mom herself, she has a fresh perspective on the childbirth experience.

Gynecological

Dr. Huepfel educates and empowers patients to make their own decisions, so she knows she’s doing what’s right for them. She loves the day to day variety of clinic care, procedures and delivering babies and is looking forward to collaborating with hospital staff physicians for the benefit of her patients.

Surgery

Dr. Huepfel is a skilled surgeon and is trained in robotic, laparoscopic and other minimally invasive surgeries. Patients say she has a gift for talking them through what is to come and giving them confidence that she will guide them through the process. She loves being a surgeon because when she diagnoses a problem, she can also be the person to fix it. Patients value the fact that Dr. Huepfel remains calm in a crisis.

Personal

Dr. Huepfel and her husband, Will, have a son named Thomas, and a terrier named Teddy. She loves walking and biking around the Minneapolis lakes and traveling to see family, including her brother and parents in California and her identical twin sister in Tennessee.
