Prior to settling down in New Jersey, Dr. Anthony C. Quartell grew up in the Bronx and went to Fordham University at Rose Hill for his premedical work. Soon after graduating from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey with an M.D. degree, Dr. Quartell completed surgery residencies at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. After a stint as a Navy physician assigned to the US Marine Corps, Dr. Quartell made his way to Livingston, where he completed another residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in 1976. He has been on the medical staff of Saint Barnabas ever since.
