Dr. Barbara Butler has been with Capital Women’s Care since 2003, where she welcomes women of all ages, but has a special interest in pediatric and adolescent gynecology, as well as perimenopause. From helping young women feel comfortable about their first gynecologic experience, to supporting women as their body’s change before and during menopause, Dr. Butler offers compassionate care to women in Rockville and Silver Spring, Maryland.
While she provides all aspects of obstetric and gynecologic care, Dr. Butler has extensive experience in normal pregnancy, high-risk pregnancy, contraception, abnormal uterine bleeding, and abnormal Pap smears.
Dr. Butler earned her medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine, then completed her residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She’s board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Before joining Capital Women’s Care, Dr. Butler practiced at Kaiser Permanente for 11 years.
In her free time, Dr. Butler enjoys sharing family activities with her husband and four children.
