Growing up in central Texas the daughter of two Dentists she learned at a young age the hard work and dedication it takes to run a private practice. Seeing the impact her parents had on their patients she too decided to pursue a career in the medical field.
Dr. Sparks completed her undergraduate studies at West Texas A&M University. In 2007 she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing for her scholarly achievements, leadership and service.
Serving as a nurse in the mission field and living in rural Kenya she worked in the operating room and witnessed life changing procedures. She discovered the true impact that surgeons can have on patients’ lives. In hopes of having the same impact, she decided to further her education and continued to medical school.
Dr. Sparks attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine and graduated cum laude with distinction in research. During medical school she was selected by her peers for her compassionate patient care and was inducted to the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS). Additionally, she was inducted to Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society for her scholarly accomplishments.
She completed her surgical training at the highly competitive integrated Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. During her six years of training, she learned from experts in the fields of aesthetics, body contouring, general and breast reconstruction. Not only did she learn from esteemed faculty plastic surgeons at UTMB she also had the opportunity to train with plastic surgeons at the Texas Medical Center in Houston Texas. She operated with world renowned reconstructive surgeons at MD Anderson as well as many leading aesthetic plastic surgeons in the Houston community. This helped hone her skills and confirmed her passion for aesthetic surgery as well as refine her cosmetic surgery techniques.
After completing residency, she and her husband returned home to Louisville. As a mother Dr. Sparks is most interested in female breast and body rejuvenation (commonly known as a “mommy makeover”) to help women restore form and function to their bodies through the art of plastic surgery. Her keen eye for aesthetics and attention to detail are perfectly combined to ensure that she delivers the desired results to meet each patient’s goals. Her sincere bedside manner, empathy and genuine caring nature truly set her apart.
In her free time Dr. Sparks loves yoga, being outside, and enjoying Louisville’s parks. Most of all she enjoys spending time with her husband Benjamin, their young son Rocco, and their two yorkies Yogi and Boo-Boo.
