Dr. Elleny Gutierrez graduated from Columbia University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Evolutionary Biology of the Human Species and completed her M.D. and Ophthalmology Residency at Louisiana State University Health. She recently completed a Glaucoma Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. She is published in a variety of medical journals, including the Journal of Ophthalmic Science and the Journal of Clinical Investigation. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society and American Medical Women’s Association. She is fluent in Spanish and in her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and Australian Shepherd, Joonie, reading, knitting and playing pickleball.
