Giniene Pirkle, MD

Dr. Giniene M. Pirkle attended college at LeHigh University where she received numerous academic awards. She attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed internship and residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She joined The Group for Women after residency and has been actively practicing with us ever since. She is Board Certified and is a Fellow with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG).

She decided to specialize in OB/GYN due to her keen interest in women’s health. She finds OB/GYN rewarding because she enjoys caring for women at each stage of their reproductive lives. Dr. Pirkle has a special interest in working with adolescents and feel it’s important that young women and girls feel comfortable in the office setting. In addition, patient safety is her passion and she has held numerous leadership and committee positions to promote it.

Dr. Pirkle has been married over twenty five years to a hobby race car driver who still makes her laugh. They have two daughters who are as different as night and day who have travelled with them all over the world. On her time off you can find her at yet another art museum or trying to finish the novel in Spanish she started way too long ago!
