Dr. Itsuka Kurihara joined Downtown Women in June of 2024. She is trained in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including robotics, laparoscopic and vaginal surgeries. She has a strong interest in family planning and reproductive health and is especially excited to be working with younger women and their contraceptive needs. Dr. Kurihara grew up in Bronxville, NY. She graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and then attended medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency training in 2022 at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in OBGYN in Livingston, New Jersey where she was an administrative chief resident. She practiced in North Jersey prior to making her way to New York City.
