Time spent to ensure the comfort level of patient and family. Never felt rushed and felt completely heard. She makes your time with her feel like the single most important thing she will do all day.

Dr. Rumpf and her resident, Dr. Epstein were incredibly kind, thorough, and removed my Nexplanon and answered ALL my questions about getting pregnant again! TL;DR: Why haven’t you booked your appointment yet? If she doesn’t save your life, she’ll certainly improve your life. For me, it was both! I transferred to Dr. Rumpf at 32 weeks pregnant after my previous OB-GYN announced she was leaving private practice to become a hospitalist. My husband and I took the recommendation of our ultrasound technician at Austin MFM, who was a patient of hers, and decided to call her office and book an appointment. Within my first meeting with her, I wished we had started our conception journey with her and knew that she would be my doctor long after our son was born. Her two front office ladies are simply wonderful and complete pros who handle everything from records to scheduling to insurance. They’d know my name when I walked in, asked about my son in post op visits, and were generally a pleasure to work with. I’ve seen many good OB-GYNs in my life, but usually, their staff is either rude, non-responsive, or completely kills the good vibes. I truly believe a doctor (and their reputation) is only as good as their staff. Dr. Rumpf has a calm and tranquil demeanor, which was a perfect foil to this first-time anxious Mom-To-Be. She listened to my concerns and questions patiently and always answered them during my appointment as well as in the wee hours of the night via the patient portal. When I was in the hospital to deliver, the nurses supporting me mentioned numerous times how great it was to work with Dr. Rumpf and that she was one of their favorite doctors to partner with, often noting her responsiveness, patience, and friendly nature. Her knowledge is deep and she took over my MFM scans and NST’s for the remainder of my pregnancy. I had elevated blood pressure and was a preeclampsia risk. She kept a close eye on my labs, blood pressure, and chose to induce me at 38 weeks as a precaution. Things didn’t quite go according to plan (as they rarely do!), I had a stalled labor and eventually had a c-section. She was patient, she never made me feel rushed, she let me decide when I was ready, she comforted me, and she did an amazing job bringing my son into the world (leaving a minimal mark as a reminder of the journey). Once I was moved to postpartum, she checked on me numerous times postpartum, sometimes even taking my blood pressure herself because it wasn’t being done often enough, and she was very pointed with her questions checking for symptoms in me that she suspected I might be developing. It was like she knew all along. 48 hours after my C-section upon getting ready to be released, my blood pressure skyrocketed and after more labs and monitoring, I was diagnosed with Postpartum Preeclampsia with Severe Features. You HOPE to have a good doctor guiding you through the good times, but you really NEED a good doctor to help you navigate the hard (remember I mentioned that I was that anxious First Time Mom-To-Be? Well turns out, I became an anxious Postpartum First Time New Mom too!). She had the perfect balance of letting me know what was going on, answering the questions of my Husband, Mom, and heck, even Sister all while reemphasizing to me repeatedly “don’t google this” and you know what? I really appreciated that. She told me enough without worrying me further. Phew. My symptoms lingered many weeks past our 6-week post check, but she was always available for any questions or concerns that I had. If you're looking for an OB GYN to be a meaningful part of your story, I cannot recommend Jennifer Rumpf more. You will be in kind and warm, but also talented and knowledgeable hands.
