Dr Oelkers is extremely thorough, attentive, and caring. She remembers everything about my medical history, takes time to review things with me, asks me questions, asks me if I have questions and then answers them all clearly. She follows up with other doctors on my care team such as calling my hematologist to ensure I get seen by them as soon as possible - I've never had a doctor do that much for me. I was in the hospital and she came in to see me when most would've just done a phone call. She goes above and beyond in ways I have never experienced with any other medical professional, including reaching out to other doctors on your care team that are not even a part of her practice such as hematology and gastroenterology to ensure you are getting the appointments and care you need. She is full of kindness and compassion, and I am blessed that I ended up in her care.
This was my first time seeing Dr. Oelkers after my previous doctor had retired. Dr. Oelkers was very nice and kind during a somewhat difficult appointment. She seems very considerate and knowledgeable.
