Karissa was wonderful. Very attentive, kind and knowledgeable. I felt she was very personable and truly cared to help me achieve my goals and get better.
Lots of great conversation - felt heard and she listened to my concerns and understood my goals of the visit. Felt the visit was very catered to how she could help me instead of a templated checklist. Appreciated the direct application and tools she helped equip me with in a single consult!
Karissa is so encouraging. I love how she explains everything and how our body works. It helps make sense of things. When you understand what the exercise does and how it helps, it makes you want to do your exercise homework more consistently. I look forward to my appointments with her.

After acquiring my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota, I hit the road as a travel PT. I have provided patient care in outpatient orthopedics also including neurological conditions, acute care, and long term care in upstate New York, North Dakota, northern Minnesota, Alaska, and Tennessee. A common area of need I observed was in pelvic floor women’s health (ie: pelvic health dysfunction, incontinence (urinary), pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, and pre and post-partum care). Through these observations, I was passionate in acquiring skills to treat these presentations. I hold certifications through Herman & Wallace for pelvic health and also certified in dry needling.
Lastly, my mother is my muse. Have you heard of the saying “empowered women, empower women” ? She is the “empowered woman that empowered me” to be the provider I am today. My mother was a catalyst to her profession as a cardiac RN, furthering cardiac care through robust clinical research. I am passionate in supporting her memorial internship offered to students pursuing a career in healthcare through the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation.
Outside of work you can find me spending quality time with my family and friends especially at the lake in the Walker, MN area. Some of my interests are all things outdoors, cooking, yoga, pilates, resistance training, volleyball, hiking, downhill skiing, (soon to be pickleball and kickboxing), audiobook reading, concerts, swing dancing, fantasy football with the gal pals (is being an optimistic Vikings fan a hobby or a disappointment? Asking for a friend) and you may have guessed…traveling!
