After graduating from Des Moines University with my doctorate in physical therapy, I started my career at an outpatient orthopedic clinic. It was there that I developed a solid foundation in treating patients in all life stages – from young people with athletic injuries to adults with post-opt procedures and chronic pain management, all the way to geriatric patients with balance and fall risk issues. I was able to help patients overcome their injuries, whether acute or chronic, and open their eyes to the autonomy they have over their bodies to heal and not be held back by pain or dysfunction for the rest of their lives.
As I have progressed in my field, I have been enlightened through my own life experiences and by watching many women friends and family members accept musculoskeletal dysfunction just because they had a baby or a menstrual cycle. This is where my passion for pelvic floor women’s health really developed. I am passionate about women getting the care they need so they can live the lives they desire.
I combine my orthopedic knowledge and pelvic floor training to help women experiencing pelvic health dysfunction, incontinence (urinary leaking), pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, or presenting for care during pregnancy or post-partum to heal and achieve the goals they have set for themselves.
I am married to my husband, Garret, and we have a Boston Terrier named Titus. In my free time, you can find me going on coffee dates with friends, playing Frisbee with my dog, going on walks and bike rides, or spending time on the lake with family and friends. I also am active in my church, and my relationship with Jesus Christ is the foundation for everything I do and live for.
