About Kristen Fried:
University Attended:
I attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND to earn my BS degree in Biology. I attended UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences for my M.D. degree and then was off to residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
About Me:
I grew up in Minot, North Dakota. Outside of medicine I enjoy running and have completed three marathons. I also enjoy hiking, biking, sailing, traveling and attending concerts/live music.
Why I Went Into This Field:
After completing my undergraduate degree I worked for two years in clinical research. I found that my favorite part of my job was the patient interaction, which ultimately led to my decision to begin medical school. I was drawn to OB/GYN because I am genuinely interested in all aspects of women’s health. I like the variety in this field and I truly enjoy working with both my OB and GYN patients. Establishing lasting relationships with my patients and being able to follow them over their entire lifetime is quite appealing to me. I am interested in general and high-risk obstetrics, preventative health maintenance, as well as medical and surgical management of complex GYN diseases including minimally invasive surgery.
