Dr. Lucy X. Chen is a reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist in the Virginia Beach area and is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) and board-eligible in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI).

Dr. Chen completed her undergraduate degree in Neurobiology from the University of Texas at Austin and received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Chen completed her residency in OB/GYN at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

Drawn to the combination of reproductive sciences and genetics, Dr. Chen pursued a fellowship in REI combined medical genetics and genomics (REI/MGG) at the renowned Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Chen’s research interests include endometriosis and evaluating the genetic basis of premature ovarian insufficiency and other reproductive disorders. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Society for Reproductive Surgeons (SRS), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society.

Dr. Chen sees patients with a wide range of reproductive conditions including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), fertility preservation, recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL), recurrent implantation failure, and fertility complications related to endometriosis and adenomyosis. Thanks to her specialized training in genetics, Dr. Chen is passionate about offering expanded genetic testing options, such as whole exome sequencing, and preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) to her patients.
