Marisa grew up in Clarkston, Michigan. She graduated from The University of Detroit Mercy with a Bachelor of Science in biology in 2013 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac on a surgical floor for 4 years. She then returned to UDM in 2016 to start her Family Nurse Practitioner Program and graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing in 2019.

Prior to working in obstetrics Marisa worked as a Nurse Practitioner in nursing facilities and urgent cares. Marisa is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and attended a medical mission trip to Guatemala.

More than anything Marisa loves being a mother. She has two sons born 19 months apart, and since becoming a mother she has developed a special interest in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She feels she can relate to her patients as they go through pregnancy and motherhood. She has special interests in breastfeeding and natural family planning.

Marisa met her husband in college and they share two sons together. She loves traveling, and has been to 10 countries in Europe! She also enjoys cooking, baking, yoga, Pilates, being outdoors and spending time with her family. Marisa and her family specifically enjoy traveling to parts of Northern Michigan.
