Dr. Fitchett is excited to be joining the great team at Wilkerson OBGYN. Dr. Fitchett was born and raised in Raleigh and is thrilled to be returning! She earned her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston before beginning medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
Dr. Fitchett remained at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine to complete her OB/GYN residency. During residency, she received both the hospital Ethics Award and the Resident Teacher Award. Dr. Fitchett is passionate about OB/GYN and intends to continue her advocacy work through the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). She is a Junior Fellow of the American College of Gynecology.
Dr. Fitchett enjoys getting to know her patients and values the opportunity to care for them through various life stages. She is excited to build lasting relationships with her patients. Dr. Fitchett is well-versed in all areas of OB/GYN and is trained in da Vinci robotic assisted-surgery.
Away from her practice, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband, Austin, and their dog, Bennett. She enjoys being active and spending time outdoors. Rachel and her husband are currently renovating their first home, which was built in 1927 – a true fixer-upper! She eagerly anticipates returning to Raleigh.
