During training, he learned how to perform the full breadth of ENT surgical procedures for children and adults including those involving thyroid, parathyroid, sinuses, voice, head and neck cancer, salivary glands, ears, tonsils etc. One of the highlights of residency was travelling to Cebu, Philippines on a volunteer mission to repair cleft lips and palates.
Importantly, he learned from his Loma Linda mentors to take care of the whole person and counsel patients based on their personal goals for treatment.
Before residency, Dr. Kent graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He did his undergraduate at BYU in Provo, Utah where he chose Spanish as his major and Korean as his minor.
He and his wife Danielle have 4 children. He enjoys spending nearly all his free time with them - especially when they can explore the outdoors together.
