Advanced hysteroscopy allows the surgeon to perform surgical procedures in the uterus, such as the removal of fibroids, while viewing a TV monitor. Advanced laparoscopy differs from regular diagnostic laparoscopy in that the surgeon performs the procedure through a very small incision. Patients experience a faster recovery, shorter hospital stay, and less postoperative pain with laparoscopic surgery when compared to conventional open surgery. Prior to joining Gynecology & Laparoscopic Surgeons (G&LS) in January 2008, Dr. Hilbert practiced with Women’s Care of Wisconsin. She earned her doctor of medicine degree in 1999 from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Upon graduation, she was recognized with the prestigious Cincinnati Obstetrical and Gynecological Society Award. Her undergraduate degree in zoology was earned at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Dr. Tammy Hilbert was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, a national honor medical society whose mission is to recognize and enhance professionalism, academic excellence, service and leadership within the profession. In 2001 and 2002, Dr. Hilbert was the recipient of the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) Excellence Award, and she completed her residency at St. Vincent Hospitals and Health Services in Indianapolis, Ind. in 2003.
