His surname may be a bit tricky (it’s pronounced “GROOT-wah-sink”…and it’s Dutch, by the way), but everything else about “Dr. G” is pretty easygoing.

“Becoming an OGBYN physician was a natural path for me,” explains Dr. G. “I love kids, I feel a special kinship and understanding of women and women’s healthcare, and there’s nothing like helping a family bring a new little one into the world. A pregnancy is one of the most joyful times in life.”

A 1991 graduate of the St. Louis University School of Medicine, Dr. G tends to be reserved about his many professional accomplishments. But that doesn’t stop others from expressing their praise. Described by patients as a “caring and skilled doctor,” Dr. Grootwassink has received many 100% ratings on the National Doctor Database (nddb.net). One satisfied woman summed up her experience this way: “My OB retired a few years ago—and I wasn’t sure anyone would be as kind and attentive. Dr. Grootwassink is both.
