From a young age, Dani Brownell-Patty felt a deep calling to women’s health and childbirth. As an elite-level ski racer in high school, she spent spring breaks shadowing an OB-GYN instead of vacationing at the beach. After witnessing her first birth at age 14, she knew she had found her purpose. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for midwifery and a career dedicated to empowering women through compassionate, evidence-based care.

Dani completed her Master of Science in Nursing–Midwifery at Texas Tech University, with diverse clinical experience in obstetric, intrapartum, and postpartum care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Her training includes rotations at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, one of the nation’s busiest delivery hospitals, as well as community-based practice at Lake Granbury Medical Center. She has supported both high-risk and physiologic births, assisted in cesarean deliveries, and provided postpartum and newborn care, all while centering her work on respect, education, and partnership.

Before pursuing midwifery, Dani worked as a registered nurse and doula, providing hands-on education and emotional support to women and families. She also founded and led Equine Connections of Colorado, a nonprofit that offered equine-assisted therapy for individuals healing from trauma. This experience reflects her belief in the power of connection, trust, and empathy in all aspects of care.

At Grace Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dani is passionate about providing relationship-based care that empowers women to take an active role in their health. She is dedicated to building genuine partnerships with her patients and ensuring that every woman feels seen, heard, and confident in their choices.

Outside of her career, Dani devotes her time to training and competing with her three elite performance horses. A lifelong equestrian, she has competed professionally in rodeo and trained futurity barrel horses, finding that her love for horses provides balance, focus, and humility. She shares her home with her longtime partner Hunter, their loyal dog Koda, and their affectionate barn cat Bebby.
