Dr. Kristie A. Greene is a specialist in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS). She grew up in Orchard Park, NY with her parents and two sisters. After graduating from the The University of Notre Dame for her undergraduate degree, she went on to receive her medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. She and her husband then moved to Tampa, FL where she completed her residency and fellowship training in FPMRS at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. They then moved to Atlanta where she served as faculty in the Division of FPMRS at Emory University before returning to University of South Florida where she spent an additional five years practicing and training fellows and residents.
Dr. Greene specializes in all forms of minimally invasive surgery. She is an invited speaker and Instructor teaching advanced laparoscopic and robotic courses both nationally as well as internationally. Her passion for training others has won her multiple teaching awards over her career including The Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award, Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) Excellence in Teaching Award, and numerous Gynecologic Surgery Faculty Teaching Awards. She continues to be active in research, which is presented at national and international conferences.
Dr. Greene’s greatest professional passion is her Global Health work. She volunteers in Uganda a couple times a year where she works with a group of local and international surgeons performing complex surgeries for urogenital and rectovaginal fistula as well as other pelvic floor disorders. During her time at University, she brought fellows, residents, and medical students with her as part of an international surgical and research elective in Uganda. For her international work, Dr. Greene was honored for her Global Health efforts by the University of South Florida with an International Humanism in Medicine Award. She left the University to create her own practice, Florida Female Urology.
