Max Polo, MD

Dr. Max Polo earned his undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania and received his Doctorate in Medicine from the University Of Miami School Of Medicine. His eight years of post-graduate surgery specialty training included two complete residencies (in general surgery and then in plastic surgery) and an elective fellowship. Dr. Polo is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Prior to joining Miami Plastic Surgery, Dr. Polo was in private practice in South Florida since 2001. In 2003, he opened a solo private practice, Polo Plastic Surgery, P.A., located in the prestigious medical community adjacent to South Miami Hospital.

Dr. Polo specializes in both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery of the breast, body, and face. He has a busy botulinum toxin and injectable filler practice with a large, loyal following. His particular expertise and experience, however, is in breast surgery, and in liposuction, fat transfer and body sculpting for both men and women. Dr. Polo's special interests include tissue regeneration and tissue engineering, breast implant product development, and breast cancer education. He has served as a paid or voluntary consultant for Mentor, Allergan, LifeCell, and Glaxo/Smith Klein. He lectures regularly to community groups on breast cancer reconstruction. He provides pro-bono services to breast cancer patients through the Baptist Health pastoral care program.
